Camping Engagement Photos | Utah Lifestyle Photography

A few months ago when it was all cold outside, I put together this shoot with Annie & Jay- an ADORABLE couple I had the opportunity to work with. As you probably know, I absolutely love camping. There's just something about breathing in that crisp mountain air and listening to those quiet mountain sounds that refreshes my mind and wakes me up inside! Having someone to share those peaceful moments of solitude makes it even more incredible.

For this themed shoot, I envisioned a cozy little escape up in the mountains complete with a makeshift tent, crackling fire, and of course marshmallows!! (Or, more importantly, Nutella!! Let's be real, the only reason I roast marshmallows is so I can put Nutella on them.) It was a bit of work to round up everything we needed for the shoot, but it all came together wonderfully!

A big round of applause for Nathan for starting a fire on six feet of snow!! Basically this shoot wouldn't have happened without him.

Annie and Jay are one of the funniest couples I've ever worked with! They kept pulling faces and making jokes; they brought so much life and energy to the shoot! Neither of them were afraid to try new things and play around with poses and props; they were so comfortable and natural in front of the camera. Annie said jokingly "Did you ask us to model because we're a mixed race couple??" They kept making me laugh!! And they're so dang adorable together, I can't even handle it.

Let's just take a second to appreciate what Nathan was doing this whole time.

That's right, romantic acoustic mood music. Could this get any more perfect??

Aaaand he's also in snowboarding boots.

Oh man. This shoot turned out to be exactly the fantasy I had in mind! It was a dream. I can't think of a more perfect way to spend an evening. Pretty sure if a boy took me to do this, I would have no choice but to fall in love with him! ;) I'm a bit of a hopeless romantic.

I found this SWEET red vintage lantern, and I just had to do a few shots with it. Don't Annie and Jay look like explorers??

Onto the next adventure!
